The first four units have each received a first name inspired by the female characters in Vincenzo Bellini: Norma, Beatrice, Elvira, Zaira. E 'scheduled delivery of three more units for a total of eight units total.
Metro Catania is a train of about 3.8 km, partly single track for 1.8 km to the surface (taken Porto-Galatea) and partly to double-track for 2 km underground (taken Galatea-Village), a standard gauge and electric drive, run by the Railway Circumetnea (FCE).
The FCE is a narrow gauge railway and diesel, 114 km long, which reaches from Catania Borgo Ripon after the almost complete circumnavigation of Mount Etna. The section currently in service follows the route of the underground urban area of \u200b\u200bthe FCE.

The last three expansions, once implemented, will replace the current case of railway Circumetnea.
